From August 30th to September 5th I will be taking over JWIL’s Twitter account. During this time, I hope to generate further awareness around the bustling literary pursuits of Vincentian writers at home and in the diaspora. Vincentians have been writing and they continue to write, despite many of our own literary histories being overshadowed by more prominent Caribbean islands and their equally brilliant roster of writers and critics. Over this Twitter residency, a series of artist profiles will be made available to the public, highlighting significant contributions from both established and emerging Vincentian writers. In highlighting these different contributions, and with the aid of published works, audio-visual recordings, and brief interviews with some of the featured writers, the project will construct an illuminating picture of just how rich Vincentian writing remains to local and diaspora histories.

While much of the sharing will take place on JWIL’s Twitter account, I will be sharing several mini-profiles (on this website) of a select group of young writers who I believe are changing the Vincentian and diaspora literary landscapes for the better.
